Off-grid solar · public record

Solar power where the sun rises and the grid never arrives

Sunrova funds solar systems for schools, health clinics and village water pumps, and publishes every system's daily output, so anyone can see what was built and whether it still works.

The problem

600 million people without electricity, under some of the strongest sun on Earth

The money thins out

A donation passes through several intermediaries before any of it reaches a roof.

Systems stop working

Panels go up, and a few years later many no longer produce, because maintenance was never funded or checked.

No one can see the result

The people who paid rarely learn whether the system works today. The public almost never does.

So trust is missing

Sunrova's answer is not a promise. It is a record anyone can check, every day.

How it works

From a meter on a school roof to a public record

1 · FUND

A sponsor funds a named system. 88% goes to the installation; the 12% operating fee is fixed and public.

2 · BUILD

A vetted local partner installs and maintains it at a school, clinic or water pump.

3 · MEASURE

The system's meter reports hourly energy. Each finished day becomes one signed data file, stored on Filecoin.

4 · PUBLISH

The day's total and the file's fingerprint are written to the Celo blockchain. Anyone can download the file and check it.

Trust

What if we are wrong, or lie?

Sunrova runs the service that publishes the data, so it is the weakest link. The design does not ask you to trust it blindly.

  • Open raw data. Every day's file is public, and its fingerprint on-chain means it cannot be quietly replaced.
  • Device signatures. Where the controller can sign its own readings, the signature is in the file. Invented numbers would not match.
  • Physical limits. A system cannot produce more than its capacity times that day's sunlight, from satellite data. Days above it are flagged.
  • Independent visits. Once a year someone independent of Sunrova photographs the meter and compares it with the on-chain total.
  • Silence is recorded. A day with no output, or no data, is published as exactly that.

Model

How Sunrova sustains itself

88 / 12

88% of every contribution goes to installations. 12% pays for operations, monitoring and maintenance, fixed in the contract that receives contributions.

70 / 15 / 15

SRVA supply is fixed at 100,000,000. 70% public, 15% founder (nothing for a year, then vested to year four), 15% project treasury in a multi-signature wallet.

Sponsors

Companies fund named installations and get a public meter page and an impact report for their sustainability reporting.

0

Fees on transfer, new tokens after launch, dividends, revenue share. None of them exist.

Not an offer. No Sunrova token is being sold, and holders are promised no profit, dividend, interest or buy-back. The pilot is funded by sponsors. Any future public offer would follow the applicable rules (in the EU, MiCA) and come with its own document.

Roadmap

One system that works, before anything larger

  1. NowDesign, contracts and oracle written and tested. Name and domain secured.
  2. TestnetContracts on the Celo testnet; the oracle runs on recorded meter data; first public page.
  3. PilotOne real system at one school or clinic, proposed in Kenya, with a field partner. 30 days of daily reports.
  4. ReviewData gaps, plausibility flags, cost. Then a decision on the token and any sale.
  5. GrowthMore systems, more sponsors, a second country.
